Searching
Searching for Pokémon is fairly easy. You just post in a board that you can search in with the form and see what happens.
Sadly, you can only search for a Pokémon as many times as how many Pokémon you have!
So, if you have two Pokmon, you are able to search two times.
Battling
If you are lucky enough to have found a Pokémon, the Pokémon will attack you!
So now, you have an opportunity to either battle it to level your Pokémon, catch it to add it to your collection, or run away.
You have infinite Poké Balls, so it doesn't count as an item, and you can use it whenever you want. Note that standard Poké Balls have a 25% catch rate. You can purchase upgrades for your Poké Balls in the Poké Mart.
When you search, you will get a post similar to this.
Now a days we don't really add the options part, but it is the same as the game.
You found a wild (Pokémon)!
(Sprite)
What will you do?
Battle
Capture
Item
Switch
Run
If you choose to battle, you will be able to either have us pick your attack, or you can pick it for yourself.
Pick something your Pokémon would be likely to have at its current level.
Make sure you go to Serebii or PsyPoks for move lists.
When you battle trainers or Pokémon, the Pokémon have HP, or hit points.
The attacks used can deplete the Pokémon of their hit points.
Some attacks can cause status effects! Most attacks take about 5-100 damage depending on the attack.
If all of the hit points of your opponent are depleted, you win and you get EXP, or experience points!
They are used to level your Pokémon.
You can also get money from battling, which can be used for many things.
When all of your HP goes out your Pokémon faints. You Pokémon starts with 100 HP and gains 100 more HP every time it gains a level. For example, a level 5 Starly would have 500 HP, a level 24 Fearow would have 2400 HP, etc.
For the Helpers (Section Added by Zærox)
The wild Pokémon will be the same level as the initial attacker. (If you start out with a level 3 Togepi, the wild Koffing will be level 3, even if you later switch to a level 1 Eevee.)
Wild Pokémon will give out EXP in increments of 50. For example, level 1 = 50 EXP, level 2 = 100, level 3 = 150, etc. If the wild Pokémon is legendary, the EXP is in increments of 55.
Trainers will also receive a certain amount of Poké if the wild Pokémon is defeated. The amount rewarded is equal to the wild Pokémon's level * 100. A level 1 wil Pokémon will give 100P, level 2 = 200P, level 3 = 300P, etc.
If the Pokémon was defeated in a Trainer battle, the enemy will give EXP in increments of 75. For example, level 1 = 75 EXP, level 2 = 150, level 3 = 225, etc. If they had a legendary, the EXP is in increments of 80.
The enemy Trainer will award Poké according to this formula:
(Number of Pokémon enemy Trainer used) * (Total number of levels on each of his/her Pokémon) * 50P
So, if the Trainer has 3 Pokémon, all level 2, it would be:
3 * (2+2+2=6) * 50P = 900P
The only exceptions to this formula are Gym Leaders and the Elite Four. All 13 of them have set rewards (rewards for Elite Four to be added).
Shinies can also be found in the wild. For EVERY wild encounter, helpers must use this randomizer. The wild Pokémon will become shiny only if all 8 coins come up with the same result. In other words, 8 heads will result in a shiny. 8 tails will result in a shiny. Anything else will not.
Wild Pokémon Levels (By Z & Flame)
Wild Pokémon are now required to correspond their level with their evolutionary stage. Exemptions include happiness evolutions, stone evolutions, trade and/or item evolutions, most other baby forms, Tyrogue, and Eevee.
Examples:
- If you find a Level 50 Chikorita on the randomizer, then evolve it to a Meganium.
- If you find a Level 4 Charizard, then devolve it to a Charmander.
- If you find a Level 50 Machoke, it will not be a Machamp because it evolves by trade.
- If you find a Level 30 Tyrogue, it will remain as a Tyrogue because it needs a Gem to evolve.
- Eevee will always remain Eevee in the wild because it always evolves with an item.
